정신세계는 일어남의 세계다

If you ask me, the material world is the world of doing
and the spiritual world is the world of happening.
Do, but then you will attain only to things;
be, and let things happen,
and you will attain to the very being of existence.
God is never attained by effort,
God is a happening.
You have to allow him to happen
-- you cannot force him.
You cannot attack him,
you cannot be violent with him
-- and all activity is violent
-- you can simply allow him.

내게 묻는다면, 나는 물질세계는 행위의 세계이며,
정신세계는 일어남의 세계라고 말할 것이다.
행하라, 그러면 단지 물질에 도달할 것이다.
존재하라, 그리고 뭐든지 일어나게 놔둬라.
그러면 존재의 핵심까지 도달할 것이다.
신은 노력으로 성취되는 것이 아니다.
신은 일어남이다.
그대는 신이 일어나도록 허용해야 한다.
그를 강요할 수는 없다.
신을 공격할 수도 없으며 신에게 폭력을 쓸 수도 없다.
사실 모든 행위는 폭력이다.
그대는 단지 신을 받아들일 수만 있을 뿐이다.
